Many people are unaware that the New Minas Volunteer Fire Department is solely provided by volunteers. Year after year men and women like you provide a valuable service to their family and friends when they need it most. If it were not for the sacrifices of these fine individuals, many calls for help would go unanswered and many lives would be lost. For over 50 years the New Minas Volunteer Fire Department has strived to provide a professional fire service to our fire protection area.  Be a hero to someone in your community today. Did you know? 

Members of NMVFD do not have to live or work within the fire departments fire protection area! 

What is expected of you? 

As a member of the NMVFD you will be expected to attend Wednesday evening weekly training. It would be helpful to the NMVFD for you to obtain level 1 firefighter certification which we provide. Members would also attend one Friday evening bingo duty once per month.

Junior Members Needed! 

We accept Junior Members between the ages of 16-18. Many Junior Members go on to pursue rewarding full time careers with the training they receive. 

Auxiliary Members Needed! 

Firefighting is not for everyone, but volunteering can be! 

It is diversity that leaves room for those that can help behind the scene. Communications, teaching fire prevention, public relations, teaching skills that may be helpful to emergency providers and fundraising. There is always a place for everyone who wishes to volunteer.
